
ENERGOTEK LLC designs and manufactures drying drums of various modifications, and drying units of other designs (aerodynamic (vortex, aero-fountain, fluidized bed, with full removal), for drying sunflower husks and other similar materials, with a productivity from 500 kg to 10 tons per hour on a dry product.
Sunflower husk is obtained by cleaning and collapsing sunflower seeds. In this technological operation, the sunflower seeds going for cleaning are usually already dry with a moisture content of 6-10%. And therefore, in most cases it is not required to dry the sunflower husk.
However, there are situations when the sunflower husk is forced to be stored on the street and gets wet from precipitation (even if it is under a canopy), or during transportation - it gets wet very often, as well as during loading and unloading.
In such cases, the husk can gain moisture up to 15-30% and become unsuitable for further use and processing. To solve this problem, the husk of sunflower should be dried.
The most universal solution would be drying in a tumble dryer. Aerodynamic drying is also possible, but it already has some limitations and disadvantages compared to a drum dryer for sunflower husks.
A drum dryer for sunflower husk is a classic drying unit. Please do not confuse with an AVM, which is not very suitable for drying sunflower husks (since it is less economical (more energy intensive) than convection-type drying units). The main advantage of convection-type drying units that we produce is versatility. In a drum dryer for sunflower husks, it is possible to dry raw materials of almost any size from 0.5 mm to pieces of 5-10 mm., And with an initial moisture content of 15 to 50%. The final humidity is 8 - 15% (the desired percentage of humidity is set at the request of the customer).
Our drying drums for drying sunflower husks are mainly aggregated with solid fuel heat generators (wood-burning stoves, coal-burning stoves, woodchip stoves). It is also possible to use heat generators on gas or liquid fuel at the request of the customer.
The most easy to maintain and economical are heat generators operating on wood / coarsely crushed chips. They are not subject to automation, and require constant monitoring - the presence of a stoker is mandatory. On such heat generators, the lowest cost of drying is obtained — and this is the main advantage of a wood-based heat generator. If you are a supporter of full automation of production, then a heat generator on finely chopped wood chips (10-20-30mm, not more) is more suitable for you.True automation of the process does not completely remove people from the fuel supply process. All the same, an apparatchik is required who will monitor the operation of the fuel supply systems and remove ash. But at the same time, automatic fuel supply is very expensive for many customers. When using a heat generator on wood or a heat generator on wood chips, it is necessary to constantly control the humidity of the incoming firewood, wood chips, since otherwise it will be impossible to achieve the necessary heat output for the drying process. A permanent large warehouse for firewood and a site for the preparation of firewood (unloading, sawing, sorting) are also needed. For example, for a heat generator with a capacity of 1-1.5 MW, the required amount of firewood is 25-38 cubic meters. per day, which is equivalent to 1 truck. Thus, it turns out that depending on the wishes and needs of the customer, the type of heat generator used is not always obvious.

Contrary to established prejudices, rumors, the words of pseudo-experts, it is drying in a classic drying drum for 1 pass with a decrease in moisture, for example, from 20-30 to 8-10%, which is the most economical. Compared to aerodynamic dryers of both drum type (AVM-0.65, AVM-1.5) and tubular (Chinese coils), a standard drum consumes significantly less energy per 1 ton of dry product than the others. Estimated energy savings compared to other types of drying units common in Ukraine will be 50-60 UAH. per 1 ton of dry raw materials.
In addition to the heat generator, for the operation of the drying drum, a smoke exhaust is required, which ensures the suction of the necessary combustion air, its passage through the drying drum, cyclone and the evacuation of evaporated moisture. For each capacity in tons per hour, taking into account the moisture content of the material at the inlet and outlet of the drying drum, a smoke exhauster with the necessary parameters is specially calculated, designed and produced.
The third necessary element for the proper conduct of the drying process of materials is the presence of a dust precipitating cyclone. The parameters of the cyclone depend on the performance of the dryer drum, the amount of moisture removed from the material, such as a heat generator. Therefore, in each case, depending on the configuration, we select cyclones individually.
